Soumountha joined the Trust in December 2007 to concentrate on the democracy focus of the Civil Society and Democracy programme. Soumountha has worked for many years in the voluntary sector. With the Field Lane Foundation, she focused on issues around housing, social care, individual and community capacity building. Her research experience includes service development, academic and policy-oriented research. Her MSc Development Studies research, recently completed at Birkbeck College ( University of London ), explored how civil society participation can contribute to challenge urban violence from a power and gender perspective. Soumountha also holds a MA in Business ( Heriot Watt University ) and a MA in Business and Marketing (Strasbourg Graduate Business School, France).
