Several of the pioneers of the UK’s first Community Land Trust (CLTs) have joined forces to publish an assessment of the way CLTs have gone about their work so far, and asking searching questions about the models that will be right for the CLT movement in the future.
The authors examine a range of different approaches through case studies and show that that there can be no one-size-fits-all partnership model with every community, instead, having taken a different approach to partnering depending on their local circumstances and how the project develops. The publication also points out that partnering with a housing association is by no means the only route available to communities looking to set up a CLT but it has been one that has achieved mutual benefits for all those involved.
