Douglas joined the Trust in 2011, with a long background in policy and research work.  He has considerable experience of carrying out research and consultancy projects, working with public and voluntary sector organisations across the UK on a range of issues, including public sector reform, financial inclusion, employability, equal opportunities and children and young people.  For the past two years Douglas has been working in the public sector, leading policy and advocacy work on postal services, telecommunications and housing issues.  Particular areas of work during this time have included the development of the private rented sector; the role of national strategies in building digital infrastructure and enhancing digital participation; and sustaining a viable post office network.

Douglas has an MA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Edinburgh, and in his spare time he can be found playing a wide range of different sports.
