New report – future investment in rural broadband
March 11, 2013
The Carnegie UK Trust and the Community Broadband Network (CBN) have today launched a new discussion paper, examining the options for future investment in rural broadband in the UK. The paper ‘Going the last mile: How can broadband reach the final 10%?‘ argues that public funding should be used to help attract new investment from other sources – and sets out how an ‘intermediary approach’, supported by a range of different funding options, could empower and enable local communities to develop superfast broadband networks in their area.
The Trust and CBN will be working together to take forward the ideas presented in the report. For more information about our work in this area please contact Douglas White, Senior Policy Officer at [email protected]
