The Brief

The consequences of the UK leaving the EU are still highly unpredictable across a multitude of public policy issues. Much will depend on the detailed arrangements that are established to determine the UK’s future relationship with the EU.

In this context, the Trust commissioned Alan McGregor, Research Professor of Economic Development at the University of Glasgow’s Training and Employment Research Unit (TERU), to consider the potential impact of Brexit on fulfilling work and actions that might be taken to mitigate the risks and take advantage of any opportunities.

Alan’s report is based on desk research, interviews and discussions with key stakeholders and statistical analysis for the UK, the EU and OECD.
